The international online biography annoknips.com was used by people from 15 countries on its first day online. In addition to several hundred visitors from Germany and the USA, lots of interested people from Great Britain, Romania, Sweden, Austria, Greece and many other countries as far away as India and Japan called up annoknips.com.

On annoknips.com anyone can compile their biography free of charge and illustrate it with their own or other people's photos. To do so, users enter an event from their lives and upload a corresponding photo (if available). The time and place of the event are documented. With a little luck other users have already recorded events in the same place. This means that users can use existing photos showing the same place for their own biographies.

annoknips.com presents itself as international – but are users from Russia and Greece (Cyrillic script) or Japan (Japanese characters) able to useannoknips.com in the same way as users from Western Europe? Thanks to an ingenious universal character set system, annoknips.com is able to display all entries in different world scripts. For example, Moscow addresses are displayed correctly in Cyrillic script. To enable streets and places in countries with different character sets to be found, for many countries these can be conveniently selected from a map with a mouse click. Completed biography entries are also automatically illustrated with a map and a satellite photo of the selected place.

In addition, users can upload advertisements free of charge. These are faded in for the region that a page refers to, enabling users to promote their volleyball club, their brother-in-law's firm or other things. Those without their own advertising banners can design a text advertisement online on annoknips.com. A short film on annoknips.com shows exactly how the "annoknips (advertising) principle" works.
